MEC and MCGAC Planning and Management: Update N/A <br /> Santuit Pond Remediation Efforts <br /> Mr. Gottlieb said both articles submitted to the CPC for Santuit Pond water quality remediation are on the May <br /> Town meeting warrant. They authorized the appraisal of the Chopchaque bogs and surrounding uplands, <br /> contracted with a company, and confirmed with DEP that the water rights would be included in the sale, or will <br /> let lapse, in order to allow flooding of the bogs for non-consumptive purposes. <br /> DNR and PALS Pond & Estuary Water Quality Monitoring: Update <br /> Ashley Fisher said The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe has received government surplus water quality monitoring <br /> equipment. Two YSI 6600 sondes were on this list which will be extremely helpful to the town. All water <br /> quality monitoring devices are out of the water due to damages, and probe membrane failure. The Santuit EXO <br /> is the only device still deployed and functioning properly. <br /> Mashpee CWNMP: <br /> • DNR/Estuary Restoration/Shellfish Program: Update <br /> Ms. Fisher said they chose the permit colors for the year: Recreational will be purple, Senior will be <br /> purple with a black stripe, and Commercial will be blue. We officially submitted our seed order for the <br /> year,to be received in June and July. We submitted the propagation renewal form, added more locations <br /> for quahog netting,nursery grow out in Ockway Bay,Popponesset Creek and Shoestring Bay. Oyster <br /> tray maintenance is ongoing in Mashpee River. Special brooms were ordered to effectively clean nets <br /> that have become fouled over the winter.salled 3 nehly 215 pecks of oysters were harvested from the <br /> w FLUPSYs in Ocicway. 316 2x2 trays and covers have <br /> Mashpee Neck Landing area. We m <br /> been built, now we're working on lining with mesh to retain the seed. <br /> Mr. York said the bottom line is the oysters appear to be holding the line in Mashpee River, and the <br /> quahogs in the Little River/Great River area have improved the water quality since 2017.
