MEC and MCGAC Planning and Management: Update N/A Santuit Pond Remediation Efforts Mr. Gottlieb said both articles submitted to the CPC for Santuit Pond water quality remediation are on the May Town meeting warrant. They authorized the appraisal of the Chopchaque bogs and surrounding uplands, contracted with a company, and confirmed with DEP that the water rights would be included in the sale, or will let lapse, in order to allow flooding of the bogs for non-consumptive purposes. DNR and PALS Pond & Estuary Water Quality Monitoring: Update Ashley Fisher said The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe has received government surplus water quality monitoring equipment. Two YSI 6600 sondes were on this list which will be extremely helpful to the town. All water quality monitoring devices are out of the water due to damages, and probe membrane failure. The Santuit EXO is the only device still deployed and functioning properly. Mashpee CWNMP: • DNR/Estuary Restoration/Shellfish Program: Update Ms. Fisher said they chose the permit colors for the year: Recreational will be purple, Senior will be purple with a black stripe, and Commercial will be blue. We officially submitted our seed order for the year,to be received in June and July. We submitted the propagation renewal form, added more locations for quahog netting,nursery grow out in Ockway Bay,Popponesset Creek and Shoestring Bay. Oyster tray maintenance is ongoing in Mashpee River. Special brooms were ordered to effectively clean nets that have become fouled over the winter.salled 3 nehly 215 pecks of oysters were harvested from the w FLUPSYs in Ocicway. 316 2x2 trays and covers have Mashpee Neck Landing area. We m been built, now we're working on lining with mesh to retain the seed. Mr. York said the bottom line is the oysters appear to be holding the line in Mashpee River, and the quahogs in the Little River/Great River area have improved the water quality since 2017. So now we have a couple years of improved water quality. Ms. Fisher said the reclassification of Mashpee Neck Landing as a family area is on the March 2'�a agenda for the Board of Selectmen to approve. As far as enforcement,there was no theft,there was one citation issued for moving oysters from Popponesset Bay to Waquoit Bay. • IMA's with other towns; DRI Review Process: Update N/A Planning and Funding for Wastewater (WW) Management/Sewers: Update Mr. Gottlieb said a total of 3 articles were sent to Town Meeting for May for wasterwater infrastructure. We need people to show up, it's an important meeting. • Mashpee Nutrient Control Bylaw: Update N/A • Town-wide Stormwater Management-Mitigation Planning: Update N/A REPORTS Conservation Department Report: • Herring Run Fish Ladder Improvements/Herring Count Program w/APCC: Update Ms. Cadoret has 3 presentations lined up,hopefully get some people to sign up from there. There will be a River Herring talk next week on Wednesday 2/19 at Cape Cod Beer.
