Both, the trustees of Wind Chime and the Rep for Mashpee Commons emphasized the
importance of educating the public and commercial enterprises which contribute waste
water to the facility in regards to what enhances the treatment and also what is harmful to
the biological process of clarifying waste water.
The point that domestic sewage is beneficial to the process of an RBC system has been
stressed.Nearby residential condos or schools would be ideal to contribute to the efficient
operation of the RBC system.
A closer study of the Mashpee Commons Treatment Plant might indicate it to be best
suited for an intermediate solution for expansion of the town service area(s). One of the.
advantages is the ease of public access.
The disadvantage is that the disposal area is located within the Mashpee River watershed
and near the portion of the river which is subject to tidal flow action.
