Mr. Marcelli made a motion to show an interest in pursuing a PRB system for Pirates Cove <br /> prepared by Pio Lombardo for$5,000 and to discuss this with the Town Manager and Board of <br /> Selectmen to pursue a grant with SRF or other entities for this project. Mr.Klenert seconded <br /> the motion. Chairman Fudala abstained,all other Commissioners voted unanimously. <br /> Chairman Fudala announced that the BOS will have their next meeting at 6:30 on July 26 and will ask <br /> that the Commission be placed on the agenda. Commissioners will attend the BOS meeting. <br /> Additionally, the August 5 site visit will be officially posted in case the Commission needs to officially <br /> meet or make decisions. John Boufier expressed concern that the Sewer Commission has limited <br /> authority to make decisions and thanked the Commission for their willingness to discuss the issue <br /> further with the Board of Selectmen. Chairman Fudala responded that the Town Charter prevents them <br /> from making some decisions. <br /> Andrew Gottlieb-County Water Quality Collaborative Programs <br /> Mr. Gottlieb was unable to attend tonight's meeting. <br /> Status of Community Advisory Committee Membership <br /> The Chair stated that the Community Advisory Committee is now filled. <br /> Falmouth Issues <br /> The Chair, Mr. O'Hara and Mr. Malarkey attended a meeting about financing alternatives in Falmouth. <br /> The Commissioners viewed a presentation about financing options, including Chatham's ability to <br /> finance their sewer system without raising their taxes due to dropping off bond issues. Mr. O'Hara <br /> added that one scenario placed an annual cost of$325-$350 per household on the tax bill making the <br /> expense tax deductible. Mr. Malarkey reported that literature has been distributed to the residents and <br /> consisted of Town of Falmouth Comprehensive Wastewater Management Planning Project and The <br /> Color of Water: Bring Back the Blue, both of which has been given to the Commissioners. <br /> Comprehensive Plan Public Opinion Survey <br /> Results of the survey suggest that residents support financing wastewater using a combination of <br /> payments. <br /> Annual Dues Renewal-Water Environment Federation <br /> Chairman Fudala reported that the membership fee of$118 for the Water Environment Federation is <br /> due but that only $113 has been budgeted, reduced from $115. The Chair typically covers the <br /> remaining cost. <br /> Mr. Lyons made a motion to pay$11& Mr. O'Hara seconded the motion. All.voted <br /> unanimously. Commissioners signed the Expense Warrant <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> Mr. O'Hara described a request from Mashpee Commons to amend a zoning bylaw requiring a <br /> developer to tie into a public wastewater treatment facility for independently owned homes but <br /> Mashpee does not currently have a system. It was suggested that wording be changed from public <br /> wastewater treatment to private- Mr. O'Hara suggested that it could be an opportunity for the Town to <br /> own the facility. The Planning Board is working on the amendment. <br /> Breezy Acres has withdrawn their request to be added to tonight's agenda. Concern has been <br /> expressed that Mashpee has requested too much money to allow Breezy Acres to tie into the high <br /> school's system. The request is expected to go before the Board of Selectmen. <br /> 7 <br />
