Kane <br /> 8 Compass Drive <br /> Mashpee,MA 02649 <br /> Dear Beverly: <br /> Welcome to the Sewer Commission's Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) regarding our <br /> Watershed Nitrogen Management Plan. <br /> The CAC members have three primary tasks: <br /> 1) to review/familiarize themselves with the project and all of the project reports which will <br /> be generated over the next 18 months, <br /> 2) to provide the Sewer Commission with their opinions / input on the proposals generated <br /> by the project and <br /> 3) to help educate the organizations that they represent and the general public about the <br /> project and resulting proposals. <br /> The Committee is not intended to have a formal structure or to meet independently from the <br /> Sewer Commission. The members will be invited to attend meetings of the Sewer <br /> Commission on the project and to provide input verbally at the meetings or in writing at any <br /> appropriate time. <br /> For your information,the makeup of the CAC is as follows: <br /> One representative each elected by / from the Board of Health, Waterways <br /> Commission, Conservation Commission and Shellfish Commission as well as the <br /> Mashpee Chamber of Commerce and the Mashpee Environmental Coalition. <br /> One resident from each of the Town's 5 voting precincts, appointed by the Board of <br /> Selectmen. <br /> One representative each from the adjacent towns of Falmouth, Sandwich and <br /> Barnstable,portions of which are included in the project study area. <br /> Enclosed is your first opportunity to enjoy tasks #1 and 2. Under the state's MEPA <br /> (Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act) regulations, our planning project is required to file <br /> an Environmental Notification Form (just like a big development project!).
