project we will have to file a Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) and a Final
Environmental Impact Report (FEIR). This MEPA process also automatically makes us a
Development of Regional Impact(DRI)under the Cape Cod Commission Act.
You will notice that the enclosed ENF application form is mostly blank, since we aren't
proposing to build anything at this point and can't have any impact on the items specified.
However, the main point of this part of the process is to have our Proposed Project Scope
reviewed and approved. Therefore, you should focus on that part of the report both to provide
yourself with an opportunity to get familiar with the project and to offer any comments that
you may have on the Scope.
A formal Scoping Session / Public Hearing regarding the Plan is scheduled for the
Selectmen's Meeting Room at Town Hall at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 16. You are
invited to attend to familiarize yourself further with the project and to provide any comments
at that time. You may also comment in writing for 20 days after the meeting.
Please feel free to call me at(508)539-1400 ext. 521 should you need any other information.
I believe that the proposed Committee will be of great help to the Commission and our
consultants in developing a project that will be responsive to the needs and opinions of the
.community and look forward to seeing you on the 16"' and to your participation and support
during this process.
Sincerely,
F. Thomas Fudala, Chairman
Mashpee Sewer Commission
