7
Board of Selectmen
Minutes
August 10, 2020
OLD BUSINESS
Update, Discussion and Possible Action Relative to COVID-19:
Town Manager Rodney C. Collins updated the Board of Selectmen on the following actions relative to
COVID-19;
As per the Governor's Order on August 11, 2020 outdoor gatherings are reduced from 100 to a maximum of
50 persons in a single enclosed outdoor space or 25% of the facilities maximum permitted occupancy. Indoors, 8
people per 1,000 square feet shall not exceed 25 persons in a single enclosed indoor space. This directive applies to
private home and back yards, etc. All outdoor activities must maintain a 6' social distance.
Complaints shall be investigated, and enforced.
There is a delay of safety items ordered for the Mashpee Town Hall.
Recently, the Board of Selectmen gave some latitude to restaurants with respect to signs. All signage has been in
place and the majority of restaurants are fully advertised with regards to operations. Due to the encumbrance of the
signs it is recommended that all additional signage be removed as of September 1, 2020. The Board of Selectmen
was receptive to the recommendation, and agreed to request restaurant signage return to regular standard signage.
There are 76 confirmed cases to date in the Town of Mashpee.
The Town Manager has issued a directive to staff regarding out-of-state travel. This includes personal travel, with
provisions required for public safety.
NEW BUSINESS
Discussion and Certification of Betterment Assessment for the Following: Pimlico Heights (Pierre Vernier Drive,
Gunter's Lane, Katian Way):
Correspondence was received from the Director of Public Works dated July 23, 2020 indicated the road conversion
project entitled Pimlico Heights has been completed.
