6 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> July 27, 2020 <br /> APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS <br /> Discussion and Approval of Appointment to the Following: <br /> Conservation Commission Associate Member (Term to Expire June 30 2021): Brian Weeden: <br /> For disclosure Selectman David W. Weeden indicated he is related to the applicant Brian Weeden who is seeking <br /> membership to the Conservation Commission. Correspondence was received from Brian Weeden dated July 13, <br /> 2020 requesting to be considered for appointment to the Conservation Commission as an Associate Member. <br /> The referenced appointment was placed on hold as the applicant having recently become aware of the vacancy <br /> created by the resignation of Dale McKay verbally expressed an interest in the Member-at-Large status. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Weeden to table the appointment to the next meeting. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cotton. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman O'Hara,yes Selectman Sherman,yes <br /> Selectman Gottlieb,yes Selectman Weeden,yes Opposed, none <br /> Discussion and Approval of Host Community Agreement Authorization for the Town Manager to Execute the <br /> Agreement and Authorization of Virtual Web-Based Community Outreach Meeting: <br /> Nicholas Gomes Esquire; Tree Beard d/b/a Old Soul Gardens: <br /> The Board of Selectmen met with Attorney Nick Gomes and Jeff Pepi, Tree Beard representatives to discuss their <br /> intention to operate a marijuana establishment involving marijuana product manufacturing, delivery and <br /> transportation at 800 Falmouth Road, Unit 104-E, Mashpee. <br /> This was a virtual web-based community outreach meeting to present the project to the Board of Selectmen and to <br /> obtain feedback. <br /> Attorney Nicholas Gomes facilitated the meeting on behalf of Tree Beard d/b/a Old Soul Gardens to review the <br /> project proposal. Old Soul Gardens is an independent economic empowerment craft company comprised of the <br /> following membership; <br /> Jeffrey G. Pepi, President <br /> Job Roach, Chief Operations Officer <br /> Hans Doherty, Chief Marketing Officer <br /> Joshua R. Craig, Master Cultivator <br /> Daphney Bosscoit-Williams, Leona Leaver, Directors of Transportation/Delivery <br /> Nicholas A. Gomes, Esquire, Chief Legal Counsel. <br /> Tree Beard is comprised of a small group of business owners, experienced in this field from the New Bedford, MA <br /> area with hopes to develop economic empowerment. <br /> The proposed establishment is not intended for use as a medical dispensary. It is intended for the adult use of <br /> marijuana. The location is convenient and secure in close proximity to emergency services. The site location for <br /> the proposed facility was chosen due to its low impact to the Town. <br />
