3 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> June 15, 2020 <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Discussion and Approval to Deficit Spend FEMA and CARES Act Funds: <br /> Finance Director Dawn Thaw(continued) <br /> Dawn Thayer, Finance Director requested the Board of Selectmen submit to the Director of <br /> Accounts of the Division of Local Services a request under Chapter 44, Section 31 of the M.G.L. <br /> for emergency expenditure authorization for FY 2020 COVID-19 related expenses. The estimated <br /> amount of expenditures is $707,875. <br /> The funds will be used for overtime associated with first responders, personal protective equipment, <br /> compliance/reporting staff costs, telework costs, school distance learning expenditures, cleaning <br /> and disinfecting, communication with the public and senior meal delivery and wellness checks. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Sherman to deficit spend in the amount of$707,875 in FY 2020 <br /> for COVID-19 related expenses as identified and submit to the Director of Accounts of the <br /> Division of Local services a request for emergency expenditure authorization. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman O'Hara. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Gottlieb,yes Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman O'Hara,yes <br /> Selectman Sherman,yes Selectman Weeden,yes Opposed, none <br /> Discussion and Approval of Annual Contract for Operation of the Transfer Station, Hauling of <br /> Recyclables - Gotta Do Contracting LLC: Department of Public Works Director Catherine <br /> Laurent: <br /> Catherine Laurent, Director of Public Works was in attendance to recommend approval of an award <br /> of contract for the Operation of the Transfer Station and Hauling of Recyclables. In response to <br /> advertisement one bid was received from the current vendor; Gotta Do Contracting LLC of Jordan, <br /> NY for FY21. <br /> Results of the bid were outlined in a memorandum from the DPW Director addressed to the Town <br /> Manager and Board of Selectmen dated June 11, 2020. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Sherman to award a contract with Gotta Do Contracting LLC for <br /> FY 2021 as recommended. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cotton. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Gottlieb,yes Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman O'Hara,yes <br /> Selectman Sherman,yes Selectman Weeden,yes Opposed, none <br /> 3 <br />
