4 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> March 23, 2020 <br /> APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS <br /> Due to the nature of the current circumstances,the Board of Selectmen waived the attendance requirement <br /> for candidates to be appointed to various Town boards and committees. <br /> Discussion and Approval of the Following Appointments to the Conservation Commission: <br /> John Swartzbaugh—Term Expires June 30, 2022: <br /> Correspondence was received from the Conservation Agent dated March 13, 2020 recommending the <br /> appointment of John Swartzbaugh as a full-time Conservation Commissioner. A letter of interest and <br /> resume was attached to the communication. Mr. Swartzbaugh's background has primarily focused on <br /> environmental consulting, public relations and communications. Mr. Swartzbaugh was a former member <br /> of the Mashpee Waterways Commission. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Weeden to appoint John Swartzbaugh to the Conservation Commission <br /> as a full-time voting member for a term to expire; June 30,2022. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman O'Hara. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Gottlieb,yes Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman O'Hara,yes <br /> Selectman Sherman,yes Selectman Weeden,yes Opposed, none <br /> Paul Columbo—Term Expires June 30, 2020: <br /> Additional communication from the Conservation Agent endorsed the appointment of Paul Columbo to <br /> the full-time status of Conservation Commissioner. Mr. Columbo previously served as a conservation <br /> commissioner in the Towns of Clinton and Leominister, MA. He has a strong background in <br /> environmental education and environmental science. <br /> Motion made by Selectman O'Hara to appoint Paul Columbo to the Conservation Commission as a <br /> full-time voting member for a term to expire; June 30, 2020. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cotton. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Gottlieb,yes Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman O'Hara,yes <br /> Selectman Sherman,yes Selectman Weeden,yes Opposed, none <br /> 4 <br />
