This includes the restaurant take-out and grocery stores providing selected hours for persons
of age 60 and over. There has been communication with the Council on Aging to ensure citizen's needs
are being satisfied.
Town Manager Rodney C. Collins conveyed he has met with his Financial Team and with the Assistant
Town Manager to review financial matters. Due to the Town's conservative budgeting practices there are
no short term issues perceived. Further assessment will be made over the long term as it relates to the state
of the economy and budgetary needs. Turn-backs will be accessed and where appropriate budgeted items
may be reduced. Those who have completed the selection process would be employed. If there is a
compelling reason to hire new staff, the Town would advertise for imperative support. At this time,
seasonal employment is not included in the assumption. In the future, there may be a need to transfer
additional funds to the Department of Public works.
The Town of Mashpee at this time is maintaining the governor's directive working under the presumption
to open Town Hall on May 4, 2020.
3
