*DRAFT SELECTMEN MINUTES 4-6-2020* 4 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> April 5, 2020 <br /> .OLD BUSINESS <br /> Discussion of Seconsett Island Parkin: <br /> Correspondence was received from Deborah Dami; Town Clerk dated March 31, 2020 relative to Seconsett <br /> Island Causeway Parking for non-residents. Mrs. Dami has ordered a supply of non-resident parkin <br /> g <br /> stickers for qualified'non-resident mooring holders and Falmouth resident shellfish permit holders. <br /> As previously discussed, the Board of Selectmen has scheduled a Public Hearing on April 27, 2020 to <br /> review this matter, <br /> Town Manager Rodney C. Collins indicated the recommended sticker fee is $100. A non-resident is <br /> required to show proof of having a mooring in Waquoit Bay or a Falmouth Shellfish Permit. Persons who <br /> qualify and obtain a sticker would sign a statement acknowledging the sticker would not be used at an <br /> g g Y <br /> other boat ramps within the Town of Mashpee. <br /> The Town Clerk would be requested to provide a-sample of the proposed sticker to be used for this <br /> purpose. To eliminate any confusion, the sticker must be distinct from the boat ramp sticker used by <br /> Mashpee residents, <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Discussion and Amoroval of Delay of the S ecial and Annual Town Meetings Pursuant to and in <br /> Accordance with General Laws Chapter 39 Section 9: <br /> As a result of recently enacted legislation to allow towns to move their Annual Town Meeting and Annual <br /> Town Election during the coronavirus state of emergency it is possible to extend the date of the Annual <br /> Town Meeting beyond the existing statutory deadline of June 30. <br /> The bill permits the Town Moderator to declare a 30-day postponement due to a public health emergency <br /> after consulting with the Select Board, a provision that parallels existing authority on the grounds of a <br /> public safety emergency. <br /> Deborah Dami, Town Clerk indicated she has consulted with Jeremy Carter, the Town Moderator who is <br /> agreeable with the Board of Selectmen in setting a date prior to June 30, 2020, In assessing this matter, <br /> the dates of June 8h and/or June 15'h were considered for Town Meeting. <br /> g <br /> 4 <br />
