*DRAFT SELECTMEN MINUTES 4-6-2020* 7 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minute s <br /> April 6, 2020 <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Discussion of Bureau of Indian Affairs Land in Trust Decision: <br /> The Board of Selectmen commented on the Department of the Interiors decision, and agreed to go on <br /> record; the Town of Mashpee has and continues to support the determination of the Mashpee wanpanoag <br /> Tribe in support of the maintenance of the Land In Trust. It is self-evident the Town of Mashpee has <br /> consistently supported the Tribe's reservation land which represents a significant portion of the Mashpee <br /> community, <br /> Motion made by Selectman O'Hara to send a letter of support for the determination of the Mashpee <br /> Wampanoag Tribe in maintaining the Land In Trust, authorizing the Board of Selectmen Chair to <br /> execute the document with appropriate language on behalf of the Board of Selectmen. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cotton. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Selectman Gottlieb,yes Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman O'Hara, yes <br /> Selectman Sherman, yes Selectman Weeden,yes Opposed, none <br /> Town Manager Rodney C. Collins was directed to consult with Town Counsel and the Tribal Council to <br /> bring forth appropriate language to the document to be sent to the Bureau of Indian Affairs in support of <br /> the maintenance of the Land In Trust. <br /> Discussion and Approval of Certificates of Compliance for Knits 24B and 24C Center Street: <br /> The Board of Selectmen reviewed the Certificates of Compliance for Unit 24B and Unit 24C, Center <br /> Street, Mashpee, units of affordable housing. As part of a deed rider in 2006, a certain Affordable <br /> Housing Restriction was imposed. <br /> Marketing efforts have been unsuccessful in locating eligible purchasers and the Town of Mashpee has <br /> declined its option to purchase the property at the maximum resale price, $208,969, <br /> In issuing the Certificates of Compliance, the seller's Affordable Housing Restriction is null and void, and <br /> the sale of the property to the purchaser would be consistent with the terms of the seller's Affordable <br /> Housing Restriction. <br /> Motion made by Selectman O'Hara to approve the Certificates of Compliance for Units 24B and <br /> Unit 24C, Center Street, Mashpee as presented. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Sherman, <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Selectman Gottlieb,yes Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman O'Hara,yes <br /> Selectman Sherman,yes Selectman Weeden,yes Opposed, none <br /> 7 <br />
