Collins indicated he will. review exact concerns and priorities with local <br /> restaurant owners via conference calls, and work with the Fire, police and Health.Department to discuss <br /> options for expanded outdoor seating. Recommendations would them be brought forth to the Board of <br /> Selectmen t the appropriate time. <br /> The Board of Selectmen was in agreement to obtain plans in advance to determine the rules as quickly as <br /> possible to allow for a smooth and-timely opening of area restaurants. The Board in adhering to the <br /> Governor's authorization would meet as necessary to expedite the process to allow the restaurants to benefit <br /> from the summer season as soon as possible. <br /> In other matters Town Manager Collins indicated he will be meeting with the Recreation Director and others <br /> to determine protocol for the beaches. It was noted.the Recreational Director is looking at utilizing the Kids <br /> Club as an.emergency exempt child care program for essential employees requiring an option for child care. <br /> The Board. of Selectmen voiced support of this initiative. <br /> The Torn Manager has received a.flnancia.l update from the Financial Team. The Town has received relief <br /> funds; $36,000 under Medicare for services provided. The Town of Mashpee also anticipates receiving <br /> 75% of eligible reimbursement expenses from FEMA.as the pandemic has been declared a federal disaster. <br /> Under the Cares.Act which is specific to C OVID related expenses, the Town of Mashpee is expected to <br /> receive $1,250,000. This is a general operating grant to assist with costs associated to overtime for first <br /> responders and other associated expenses. Additional funding would roll into Free Cash for use next fiscal <br /> year for C O ID related expenditures. A portion of this Cares Act revenue may be used for the 2 % match <br /> required for FEMA reimbursement. <br /> With regards to the Transfer Station normal course will begin this weer for the disposal of large bully <br /> items..It was recommendation that signage be placed at the land 111. Users will be required to bring <br /> assistance to dispose of their large items to not rely can staff members. <br /> The Town.Moderator and Town Clerk are working on preparations for Town fleeting. The Town <br /> Moderator is expected to render a decision soon on the June 15, 2020 date. The Town Moderator was also <br /> noted to be supportive of moving the meeting forward where appropriate to limit the time spent at Town. <br /> Meeting. There is no indication the date will be postponed. Any changewould be directed to the Board o1` <br /> Selectmen.as quickly as possible. A plan is in place to meet the needs of the public and the citizens will. <br /> receive advance notice as to how the meeting will be safety conducted. <br />
