Most of the revenue earned is within the first three months of summer <br /> on the Cape. The Board of Selectmen echoed concerns and requested information regarding the opening <br /> restaurants with outdoor-facilities for outside dining as an option.. In support of the opening Senator Cyr <br /> stated that when the working group convened restaurant and tourism issues were discussed with the <br /> understanding the summer season is relatively short on the Cape, and outdoor locations were under <br /> consideration. <br /> Discussion followed regarding the expansion of outdoor seating for restaurants, and how quickly the AI CC <br /> would be willing to work with the local community to expedite the approval r+o e . Senator Cyr indicated. <br /> p �" <br /> he would urge the Governor to authorize an executive order to involve the local licensing authorities in the <br /> process. It was suggested the directive include matters relating to seating capacity and outdoor <br /> accommodations. And most importantly to hasten the approval process for the shortened season, <br /> Beaches are slated to open on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. Guidelines are available and the use <br /> of the beaches shall be consistent with adequate space required to social distance with facial masks <br /> accessible if needed. ;used.on the input from the `Down of Mashpree and the State beach, beaches shall be <br /> opened two days prior in Mashpee. <br /> Senator Cyr was asked if there is guidance to assist municipalities in pursuing stimulus funding. It was <br /> disclosed there is Federal aid flawing into the Commonwealth. The pandemic is considered as a disaster <br /> under FEMA. guidelines, and Federal stimulus support is being made available. Senator Cyr indicated that it <br /> is projected there would be reductions in almost every budget category. It is expected that State.Aid which <br /> includes Chapter 70 monies would be reduced. The State is awaiting results of the Federal stimulus before <br /> reductions are considered. The budget will most likely be finalized in July or August. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> Discussion and Possible Action <br /> Town Manager Rodney C. Collins updated the Board on the matter of COVII -19. With the Governor's <br /> directive regarding the four-phase approach to the re-opening the State there are many protocols and <br /> procedures to formalize. Details regarding the plan were revealed on.May 18, 2020. With new information <br /> to digest, the Town Manager indicated he would work on the implementation of the newly received <br /> protocols and procedures. <br /> It is the recommendation of Town Manager Collins to request employees return to work on Tuesday, May <br /> 26, 2020. To allow time to implement protocols such as facial masks, social distancingd cleaning <br /> an g <br /> ,practices to be strictly enforced. It was also recommended the Ma.shpee Town Hall abstain from opening to <br /> the public until further analysis and discussion with the Board of Selectmen. Sticker sales would be <br /> conducted online or by mail. <br />
