23
Report of the Park Commissioners
To the Honorable Board of selectmen
and the Citizens of the Town of Mashpee
Beaches and public landings are, with more people visting
our areas, becoming a vital attraction of Cape Communities,
in turn these attractive spots can become a financial asset
to the community if properly developed and maintained.
Each year it is the policy of this committee to improve
the facilities of Attaquin Park and to maintain the existing
beach as Seconsett.
This year income from beach parking was nearly 20%
of our expenditure. It may be possible in the years to come to
increase this intake to at least 75% of yearly expenditure.
It is our hope that in the near future adequate lavatory
facilities must be built, playground equipment must be pro-
vided for the young .and cook out and picnic facilities added
to make it attractive for all.
It is suggested by this committee that the Selectmen
and the committees so affected discuss, plan, and plan to
appropriate the necessary funds needed, to establish and
maintain all public landings, beaches and parks under one
department for the better control and efficiency.
We wish to express our appreciation -to the various town
officials and .to the citizens of the town for their cooperation
during the past year.
Respectfully submitted,
KENNETH COMBS
ELMONT B. TOBEY
GEORGE GREEN
Park Commissioners
