10
A bill was filed with the legislature for the State to
reconsider the taking of South Cape Beach with more ac-
curate appraisal.
There still remains a great need for office space for
the various boards. We cannot operate efficiently without
the necessary facilities.
The departmental meetings called by the Selectmen
each month is proving of great value. By round table dis-
cussion of current and new projects many problems have
been solved.
It is now proposed that there shall be combined meet-
ings of the Selectmen, Finance Committee and Planning
Board to work together studying future growth and improve-
ments in the town. A list of capital projects should always
be on hand and annually revised as need becomes apparent.
Long range planning, five to twenty years ahead, should be
made. This method of planned town progress should be-
come effective immediately.
The Board wishes to thank the citizens and all depart-
ments of the Town, the Town Counsel, Mr. Charles McGrath,
and the Mashpee Advisory Commission for their cooperation
in making the activities of the year a success.
Respectfully submitted,
LEROY M. AIKEN, Chairman
ELWOOD O. MILLS
FRANK E. HICKS
Selectmen of Mashpee
