34
Forest Warden
To the Honorable Board of Selectmen:
Town of Mashpee
Mashpee, Masachusetts
I hereby submit my report for the year ending December
31, 1963.
During the year there were (22) twenty two brush fires all
being class (A) which is less than one half acre.
The most serious problem is the Town Dump. It has been
quite expensive to keep it under control in the dry weather.
Too many, it seems like a waste of time and money to put out
a dump fire, but if it was left to burn unattended, you can be
sure we would be fighting a good sized fire perhaps at Route
130 or Santuit Pond which would be far more expensive. I have
to prevent fires when ever possible knowing that man power is
scarce.
Respectfully,
ELLSWORTH PETERS
Forest Warden
