Judy Mills <br /> 1991 was a busy one for Mashpee. <br /> - The addition to the Mashpee Police Station was com- <br /> pleted and dedicated early in the year. <br /> -The Frank Homeyer Housing for the Elderly Complex <br /> was completed and dedicated in January. The 22 units <br /> are now occupied by local residents. <br /> -Plans for the much needed addition to the Senior Center <br /> are complete. Town funds from other capital projects <br /> have been identified to serve the growing needs of our <br /> Senior population. The Friends of the Council on Ag- <br /> ing have provided the Planning Funds and deserve our <br /> sincere appreciation. <br /> -A Persian Gulf Parade was held during the Summer to <br /> honor our participation in the War. Roger Medieros of <br /> the D.P.W. and Sgt. David Mace of the Police Depart- <br /> ment were called to serve in the Gulf along with others <br /> called up locally. <br /> -Hurricane"BOB"left his calling in Mashpee.Our heart- <br /> felt thanks are due the many Town employees, <br /> volunteers, and neighbors that assisted during that time. <br /> Our appreciation is due to the Christ the King Parish <br /> for the use of the facility for a successful "Soup <br /> Kitchen". Nearly 1,000 meals were served daily during <br /> the week that followed "BOB". <br /> Unfortunately, the Town of Mashpee lost the services <br /> and abilities of a fine young Selectman, Andrew <br /> Gottlieb. We wish Andrew continued success in the <br /> future. We also urge him to return to Mashpee govern- <br /> ment at a later date. The resultant election to replace <br /> Gottlieb brought James Vaccaro to the Board of <br /> Selectmen. <br /> The first ever Recall Petition and Election removed <br /> Willard Hanson and elected Judy Mills to a seat on the <br /> Board of Selectmen. <br /> 6 <br />
