Chair Baumgaertel asked if there were any
statistics on the success of the reverse 911 calls. Mr. Harrington answered that there were a few
callbacks from residents with questions but, otherwise, he did not have a mechanism to assign a
value to its success rate. Mr. Virgilio stated that, in his experience with state and county reverse
911 calls, they are very successful. If there are few follow-up calls from the public, it is indicative
that the message on the reverse 911 call was clear and understood. Chair Baumgaertel and Mr.
Virgilio both acknowledged receiving the most recent reverse 911 call, but Ms.Warden indicated
she had not received it. Mr. Virgilio inquired if residents who no longer had a landline would
receive those calls, and Chair Baumgaertel stated that he received the call via a voicemail on his
cell phone. Chair Baumgaertel asked if another call should be scheduled
before Christmas, and Mr. Harrington noted that the recent press release had cautioned against
holiday gatherings.
