The original 6 ft. x 4 ft. sign was difficult to see from
the street, so they decided to change the location to the other side of the entrance way
of the club house. The new sign is 8 ft. x 4 ft. The sign is composite material and is
an engraved sign with gold leaf lettering.
Jonathan and Joe had no issues.
Charlie asked if the sign was within the road layout. Mr. Chase said he hired a
surveyor to check the location, and the sign is located 5 ft. 2 inches back frorn Old
Barnstable Road. Charlie said the sign has to be on the property, and the DPW would
make sure that there's no vehicular obstruction. Charlie said the sign looks further
away from the road. Charlie suggested that Bob get in touch with Catherine Laurent,
DPW Director to verify the location. Charlie also mentioned to Bob that if the sign is
on Town property, he would require a conversation with the Board of Selectmen.
Bob mentioned that the owner would like to install a small stone flower bed wall
around the sign. Charlie said that as long as the stone wall is on the property is fine.
There were no more questions. Jonathan made a motion to accept the application as
presented for Quashnet Valley Country Club new sign being replaced at 309 Old
Barnstable Road, Mashpee, MA.
