BOARD MEMBER COMMITTEE UPDATES
Cape Cod Commission-Ms. Waygan reported that a draft Climate Change Action Plan
is expected to be published soon. They are working on the Regional Policy Plan in response to a
citizen petition to address climate change. She noted that the changes, according to the
petitioners, are too weak, but there is a bill working through the legislature that may render it a
moot point. She also reported that the Commission is looking for High School aged children to
be climate ambassadors. There is a full Commission meeting on 1/19/2021.
Community Preservation Committee-Meeting 1/14/2021 at 6:00 PM and will hold a
7:00 PM public hearing as required by the Community Preservation Act to generate a
Community Preservation funds prioritization plan. She asked the Board if they wanted to submit
any comments for the CPC's consideration. The CPC was seeking to prioritize use of funds for
the year. Ms. Waygan felt that open space projects that help with nitrogen and stormwater plans
should be prioritized. The Chair was inclined to support affordable housing projects. Mr.
Balzarini supported housing as well as sewering. Ms. Waygan clarified that that isn't an eligible
activity but could be used to support the Nitrogen Management Plan. There was consensus from
the Board that MS. Waygan could submit on behalf of the Board to the CPC a request to
prioritize CPA funds for affordable housing and projects in support of the Nitrogen Management
Plan. Ms. Waygan also noted that one application had been made for the acquisition of
Gooseberry Island.
Design Review Committee-No Meeting
Plan Review—No Meeting
Environmental Oversight Committee-No meeting
Greenway Project-No update and remove from agenda
Historic District Commission-A meeting was held to approve a commercial sign and
another meeting is upcoming on 1/14.
Military Civilian Advisory Council-No meeting
ADDITONAL TOPICS NOT ANTICIPATED BY THE CHAIR
ADJOURNMENT
MOTION: Mr. Balzarini made a motion to adjourn. Mr. Callahan seconded the motion.
All voted unanimously.
The meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Patricia A. Maguffin
Administrative Secretary
5
