Submitted by the Board of Selectmen <br /> with Explanation: This article provides funds from available revenues to provide taxpayers witn a <br /> property tax relief program. <br /> Recommendation: The Finance Committee recommends approval. <br /> Motion made by Kenneth Marsters. <br /> Motion: I move the Town vote to appropriate and transfer from Revenue Available for <br /> Appropriation $500,000 to offset the FY 2002 property tax rate. <br /> Motion passes unanimously at 7: p.m. <br /> Article 3 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate $5,500 to the Accountant's Expense <br /> Account, or take any other action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Town Accountant <br /> Explanation-, These funds are required for additional services provided to the Town for the <br /> audit of the Treasurer/Tax Collector's Office. <br /> Recommendation: The Finance Committee recommends approval. <br /> Motion made by Wayne Taylor, <br /> 0 <br /> Motion: I move the Town vote to appropriate and transfer from Revenue Available for <br /> Appropriation $5,500 to the Accountant's Expense Account. <br /> Motion passes unanimously at 7:39 p.m. <br /> Article 4 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate or transfer from available funds $10,000 to <br /> an Accrued Benefits Account, or take any other action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Finance Committee <br /> Explanation: Accrued benefits, such as contractual retirement benefits, are not normal <br /> operating expenses and are often not anticipated at the time of appropriation approval at the May <br /> Town Meeting. This account will provide for a separate accounting of such expenses, which are <br /> now provided by a variety of fund transfers or increased departmental appropriations at the <br /> October meeting. <br /> Recommendation: The Finance Committee recommends approval. <br /> Motion made by David Leveille. <br />
