G'P <br /> Article 12: Helping Hands Playground (Criteria: Renovation of Recreational Area). <br /> This request is to appropriate $45,000 to replace outdated playground equipment at the Quashnet <br /> School. <br /> i <br /> Article 13: Kids Klub Playground (Criteria: Creation of Recreational Area). <br /> The town operates the Kids Klub day care facility on Great Neck Road North which was <br /> formerly used as the Senior Center. This request is to appropriate $27,683 to create a playground <br /> area for that facility. <br /> Article 14: Mashpee One-Room Schoolhouse Renovation Project(Criteria: Renovation of <br /> Historic Resources). <br /> In 1998, the Mashpee Women's Club raised and donated $60,000 to restore the one room <br /> schoolhouse located on Meetinghouse Road. This project requests an appropriation of$16,500 <br /> to make further renovations to this historic Mashpee building, which is on the National Register <br /> of Historic Buildings. <br /> Article 15: Habitat for Humanity Project(Criteria: Creation of Affordable Housing). <br /> This project requests an appropriation of$40,000 as "seed money"to construct 2 additional units <br /> of affordable housing at 562 Cotuit Road and 59 Quashnet Road, respectively, by the Habitat For <br /> Humanity of Cape Cod. Habitat for Humanity qualifies for funding consideration, because it is a <br /> registered, not-for-profit corporation. <br /> Article 16: Reservation of Program Criteria Minimum Funds. <br /> As noted in the explanation the CPA legislation requires 10% of the funds raised through this <br /> Act either be directly appropriated or reserved for future appropriations in each of three <br /> categories: Open Space, Historic Resources, and Affordable Housing. The CPC is <br /> 1 recommending approval to set aside $177,267 as reserves for future projects under the minimum <br /> 10% allocation criteria in each of the accounts for Open Space, Historic Resources, and <br /> Affordable Housing programs, respectively. The total amount being reserved is $531,801. <br /> Appropriation of these reserve funds for specific projects will require future Town Meeting <br /> approval. <br /> Article 17: Transfer of Administrative Services Funds. <br /> The CPA legislation provides that 5% of the funds collected can be used for administrative, <br /> auditing, legal, engineering, or other associated costs incidental to the administration and <br /> oversight of the CPC and/or the town.
