ARTICLE X1 --Affordable Housing Committee <br /> History: Adopted 5-1-2000 ATM,Article 33,approved by Attorney General on 8­7-2000. <br /> History: Amended 5-5-2003-ATM,Article 1.6,approved by Attorney General on 8-27-2003. <br /> §340. Appointment; Purpose: The Board of Selectmen shall appoint an Affordable <br /> Housing Committee for the purpose of assisting in any future updates to the <br /> Affordable Housing element of the Comprehensive Plan, reviewing and submitting <br /> comments on any proposals for affordable housing projects submitted for approval to <br /> the Board of Selectmen under the Local Initiative Program or the Zoning Board of <br /> Appeals under Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 40B, identifying and facilitating <br /> opportunities for increased housing affordability in Mashpee on an or basis, <br /> working with the Planning Department and other agencies to develop a Housing & <br /> Community Development and maintaining communications with similar groups in <br /> housing organizations. The activities and recommendations of the Committee shall <br /> be consistent with the goals, objectives, policies and action plan of the Town's <br /> adopted Comprehensive Plan. <br /> §341. Membership: Terms: The Board of Selectmen shall appoint the Affordable Housing <br /> Committee consisting of nine (9) members. Members shall be reappointed annually. <br /> The members of the Affordable Housing Committee shall serve without pay. <br /> §342. Organization; Meetings: The Committee shall elect annually a Chairman, Vice <br /> Chairman and Clerk. Said election. shall. take place at its first meeting after July I of <br /> each year. <br /> §343. Powers and Duties-, Said Committee shall be responsible for 1) assisting in any <br /> future updates to the Affordable Housing element of the Comprehensive Plan, 2) <br /> reviewing and submitting comments on any proposals for affordable housing projects <br /> submitted for approval to the Board of Selectmen under the Local Initiative Program <br /> or to the Zoning Board of Appeals under M.G.L. Chapter 40B, 3,) identifying and <br /> facilitating opportunities for increased housing affordability in Mashp,ee on an <br /> ongoing basis, 4) working with the Planning Department and other agencies to <br /> develop a Housing Development Action Plan under the provisions of 760 CMR 46.00 <br /> and seeking its approval by the Board of Selectmen and the Secretary of <br /> Massachusetts Department of Housing & Community Development and 5) <br /> maintaining communications with similar groups in housing organizations. The <br /> activities and recommendations of the Committee shall be consistent with the goals, <br /> objectives, policies and action plan of the Town's adopted Comprehensive Plan. Said <br /> Committee may also serve as, and may perform the functions and duties of, the <br /> Town's "Local Housing Partnership", provided that all of the legal and regulatory <br /> requirements for creation of such a"Partnership" are met. <br /> ARTICLE XII -- Subdivision Board of Appeals <br /> History: Adopted 54-1992 ATM,Article 8,approved by Attorney General on 7-15-1992. <br /> History: Amended 10-1-2001,ATM,Article 18,approved by Attorney General on 12-6-2001. <br /> §3-�44.
