When Town Meeting approved participation in the Community <br /> Preservation Act in 2004,the State reimbursed municipalities 100% for all funds raised locally,i.e., <br /> if the town raised $1,000,000 from the 3% property tax surcharge, the State matched that amount, <br /> thereby providing a total of$2,000,000 for the intended uses.
