Motion passes unanimously at 8:12 p.m. Article 19 To see if the Town will vote to, raise and appropriate, or transfer from available funds $60,000 to the Recreation / Human Services / Senior Center/ Community Facilities Consultant Account, to be expended under the direction of the Board of Selectmen for consultant services and associated costs related to the development of a planning and preliminary design study for municipal. recreation, human services, senior center and community center facilities, or take any other action relating thereto. Submitted by the Board of Selectmen Explanation: This article would provide funds to undertake a planning and preliminary design study for one or more buildings to be used for indoor recreation, human services offices, a new or expanded. senior center and community center facilities, including estimated costs, potential income and economic feasibility. This proposal is submitted in conjunction with the work being done by a community needs committee convened by the Selectmen and Leisure Services Department. Recommendation: The Finance Committee does not recommend approval. Motion made by George Green. Motion: I move the Town vote to raise and appropriate $60,000 to the Recreation / Human Services / Senior Center / Community Facilities Consultant Account, to be expended under the direction of the Board of Selectmen for consultant services and associated costs related to the development of a planning and preliminary design study for municipal recreation, human services, senior center and community center facilities. Motion passes at 8:25 p.m. Article 20 To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate or transfer from available funds a sum of money to the Stabilization Account, or take any other action relating thereto. Submitted by the Board of Selectmen Explanation: This article is necessary to transfer funds into the Town's Stabilization Fund for future use. The Town has adopted the goal of maintaining no less than ten percent of the annual budget in the Stabilization Account. At the time of publishing, funds available for this transfer had not been certified by the State. It is estimated that approximately $1,000,000 will be transferred to the Stabilization Fund. Recommendation: The Finance Committee recommends approval.
