Account. <br /> Motion passes at 7:52 p.m. <br /> Article II <br /> To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate or transfer from available funds $80,000 to <br /> the Coombs, School Ballfield Account, to be expended under the direction of the Board of <br /> Selectmen, or take any other action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Board of Selectmen <br /> Explanation: This article would provide funds to install lighting fixtures at the baseball field <br /> adjacent to the Coombs School, which may also be used to light the adjacent fields, in order to <br /> allow night use by Little League and other sports league teams. <br /> Recommendation: The Finance Committee does not recommend approval. <br /> Motion made by David Leveille. <br /> 0 <br /> Motion. I move the Town vote to raise and appropriate $80,000 to the Coombs School <br /> Ballfield Account, to be expended under the direction of the Board of Selectmen. <br /> i Motion s defeated at 7:54 p.m. <br /> Article 12 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate, borrow or transfer from available funds <br /> $275,000 to the Town of Mashpee Ballfield Account, to be expended under the direction of the <br /> Board of Selectmen, for construction of ballfields, and recreational areas within the Town, or <br /> take any other action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Board of Selectmen <br /> Explanation: This article sets aside funding the development of playing fields and recreational <br /> areas throughout the Town to address the shortage of fields and meet the needs identified by the <br /> Board of Selectmen's Ad-Hoc Committee which has studied needs over the past year. This, <br /> project will provide additional playing field capacity for adult recreational leagues and <br /> programs, youth soccer, youth baseball, youth football and scholastic lacrosse and, general active <br /> recreational sports. All funds will. be expended under the direction of the Board of Selectmen, <br /> with anticipated funding of $175,000 to develop field at the Route 28-Sampsons Mill Rd site <br /> and $100,000 to expand Heritage Park off of Rt. 130. Any remaining funds will be used to plan <br /> and develop future fields off of Redbrook Road to distribute fields more evenly throughout the <br /> community. <br /> Recommendaflon: The Finance Committee does not recommend approval. <br /> Motion made by Wayne Taylor. <br />
