Explanation,: This article is placed on the warrant to fund a cost of living increase for P.A.P. <br /> employees and Special Contract Employees consistent with increases granted to other Town <br /> employees. <br /> Recommendation: The Finance Committee recommends approval. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Reveille. <br /> Motion: I move the Town vote to grant a 3 percent cost of living adjustment to the Personnel <br /> Administration Plan (P.A.P.) and special service contract employees for FY2001. <br /> Motion passes at 9:13 p.m. <br /> Article 7 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to upgrade the position of Administrative Clerk in Personnel to a <br /> Personnel Assistant under the Personnel Administration Plan, Grade 8, Step I,, Appendix B, and <br /> to raise and appropriate $3,890 to the Personnel Salary/Wage Account, or take any other action <br /> relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Personnel Department <br /> Explanation: The role of the Personnel Administrative Clerk has grown in responsibilities <br /> which require assisting the Personnel Administrator in covering virtually every personnel action <br /> that might occur during an employee's tenure with the Town. This position, is a key support <br /> position, which includes a full range of personnel responsibilities in several functional areas and <br /> much more. Our service to employees has increased in the areas of: <br /> liaison to all town departments on personnel-related issues <br /> 'record keeping (automating personnel records) <br /> maintaining employee files <br /> monitoring and tracking of attendance and leave usage <br /> monitoring and tracking of performance appraisal process <br /> advertising for town positions and collection of all applications <br /> orientation. of new employees <br /> contract administration <br /> distribution of town policies and procedures <br /> assisting with benefit administration <br /> providing assistance in personnel matters to town personnel <br /> assisting with coordination of in-house training programs and workshops <br /> assisting with testing and examination processes <br /> entering employee information into Town's new automatic data processing system <br /> tracking town sick leave banks, longevity, etc. <br /> processing unemployment notification and claims, D.O.R. reports, etc. <br /> Upgrading this position to Personnel Assistant will provide of internal and external equity. <br />
