This was not engineered by any <br /> one individual. I knew nothing about it until I received a call l <br /> from the Ante Leo Sweeney and was asked if I would serve . <br /> We had at one point a publicmeeting t the New Seabury Cinema <br /> Theatre . In order to have a. public hearing, we have to hire some— <br /> one to go to the Tax Assessors ' office and write all the awes <br /> of all the taxpayers® We had to print a record of what was going <br /> to be done and said. We had to get out letters and handwritten <br /> notices mailed out - of Wich 75 came back unknown. Knowing that <br /> such a procedureis going, to cost between three and four hundred <br /> dollars to set up a public hearing we wanted to have the money <br /> ready. The money could be turned ac if no meeting a.t ia? zed. <br /> If we do have a public meeting this year which we very well may, <br /> we meat go through the same procedure to notify the people . <br /> B e y: i move the sum of $400.00 be raised and appropriated <br /> for item 72 for the Popp et Bay; Waterways Committee. Seconded. <br /> SO VOTED. <br /> ITEM 86 - (Third hold) <br /> Question was raised as to why there was no request or recommenda- <br /> tion in the case of Sanitary Landfill, and an expenditure wader <br /> SS authorized for so much more than was allowed for expense the <br /> previousyear. Mr. Garland explained that the $21 ,048 requested <br /> and recommended under "Expense" item 86, was meant to cover both <br /> items 86 and 87 , which includes :cost of Sanitary Landfill . <br /> is <br /> 3 d Hold: Item 103 ® Park and Recreation Expense <br /> Mrs. Merw n Sturgis :: I asked for this hold. I asked three members <br /> of the Park L Recreation Commission for a meeting before the budget. I <br /> was, submitted, but did not receive the courtesy of a reply. I <br /> wanted to ask if they would include in their expense request <br /> $,1 , -, .z 0 for supplies for the s`. shpee ome P Softball League expenses <br /> (Cites payment for Teaticket League dues) . i would like to have this <br /> figure mended to include $1 95 . 03. T regret to have to ask for it <br />
