To see if the town will vote to raise and appropriate III' the sum of 13,040.00 for a transportation contract for a new school bus , for use from September 1, to December 31 of this year. On checking the story with the principal it was agreed that this was impossible and the present buses could not suffice. As it is now, it -would mean some children would be more than an hour on the bus Are there any further questions? If -so 1 think ;your school principal could better answer them. But with a staggered session we have a different situation. We pick up the freshmen aid sophomores at 10 of 8 ; seniors and juniors at 9 :3 . O. the return trip, freshmen and sophomores at 10 of 2 . and seniors and juniors at 3:3 . We would have to begin to pick up at a 45 if we had one bus in order to pick up, all the pupil at (names places i.e. , Pirates Cove, John' s Pond, New Sea =0 Mono oscoy, etc. 5 if all this mileage was included it . would be over 30 miles . Time is the important thing. Some children would F be riding from Q 5 to a 15 %ich would be ridiculous! For these`. a.scn we are starting 2. buses lin opposite directions ® they meet on 151 and taus we can have a. shuttle system in operation whicl;z gets them there 5 or 10 minutes before school starts. -b have to be at Otis at 8 M and here is no heated place where we can meet and wait for one bus. At 9 :30 the junior and seniors meet to go to high school. We will have to picky up junior, senior, and elementary all on one bus in the morning. . . . but-1 don't think this is the question asked. he question was whir $40.00 per day.
