Mr. Weeden said out of
respect of this position, residents of the Town, and Selectmen who appointed him to be here
today, he received a preliminary advisory from the State Ethics Commission and will not
discuss that at this time because he thinks we should wait and see what the State Ethics
Commission has to say on this matter of conflict of interest as they're the ones who should
make the final decision. Out of respect for myself and Town residents and the Town who I
serve first and foremost, I'd like this issue to be tabled until we can resolve with the State
Ethics Commission. Agent asked_if,Mr. Weeder understood this is--the Iast Conservation
Meeting before the Town meeting occurs. Mr. Weeden said he understands that, but said
there are some other issues around this item and,.it-will-probably be moved to the spring
meeting, so he doesn't really see it as a pressing issue at this time. Again, he'd like to wait
until we get clarification from the Ethics Commission. He also said he did take an oath to
uphold the Tribe's Constitution, however he did take an oath to do this job impartially to the
best of his abilities. He'd like to give the residents and elected officials who appointed him the
opportunity to do that. Agent thanked Mr. Weeden and noted it was hard to hear him on the
speaker. Mr. Smith said it sounded like there was wind coming from Mr. Weeden's phone.
Agent said Mr. Weeden asked that this be tabled. Mr. Smith asked if anyone had any further
discussion on the topic. There were no other comments.Agent said a motion is not necessary
as it's a non-hearing agenda item. Mr. Smith said we will table the discussion until the next
Conservation Meeting.
HEARINGS:
6:00 SCCA, Inc., 15 Metacomet Road. Permit existing pier, ramp and float structure. At request of NO[
applicant, continued from 9110 for applicant to communicate with Harbormaster and submit
revised plans showing moorings located within 75 feet.
Attorney Barry Fogel from Keegan Werlin presented plans. Agent stated Harbormaster has
no issue with the number of dinghies to be stored on this structure. He conversed with the
association that is taking over all management, including dinghy storage and docking at this
