Article 19. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate or transfer from available funds $60,916, with said funds to be distributed as follows: $53,192 to the Medical Insurance Account and $7,724 to the Medicare Account, or take any other action relating thereto. Submitted by the School Committee Explanation,,* This article will fund the fringe benefit costs of new positions in the School Department for Fiscal Year 1997. Motion made by Janice Mills, Chairman, School Committee, Motion: I move the Town vote to raise and appropriate $60,916 with said funds to be distributed as follows: $53,19�2 to the Medical Insurance Account and $7,724 to the Medicare Account. Motion passes at 7,-45 p.m. Article 20. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Board of Selectmen to acquire by purchase or eminent domain for conservation purposes a parcel of land containing 2.73 acres, more or less, identified on the 1995 Mashpee Assessors Maps as Map 43, Block 1, generally located on Grafton Pocknett Road and surrounded by the Town conservation area known as John's Pond Park, to be held in the care and custody of the Conservation Commission pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 40, Section 8C; and further, to see if the Town will authorize the Board of Selectmen and/or Conservation Commission to apply for and accept Federal and/or State grants, including reimbursement under Chapter 132A, Section 11 of the General Laws, to be applied by the Town toward the financing of this purchase, and to enter into contracts or agreements with Federal and/or State agencies, private conservation trusts or other entities or persons in connection with the purchase of such land and its preservation for conservation purposes; and finally, to see if the Town will authorize the Conservation Commission and the Board of Selectmen to enter into agreements and execute any and all instruments as may be necessary on behalf of the Town to effectuate said purchase or taking; or take any other action relating thereto.
