Motion: I move the Town authorize and empower the Board of Selectmen to prepare a plan laying out and defining Pickerel Cove Circle and to accomplish said purpose and for expenses incidental and related thereto, the Town raise and appropriate the sum of$5,000. Motion passes unanimously at 8:50 p.m. Article 42 To see if the Town will vote to authorize and empower the Board of Selectmen to prepare a plan laying out and defining Mashpee Shore Subdivision consisting of Redwood Circle, Redwood Circle-Rear, Magnolia Lane, and Birch Way; and to accomplish said purpose and for expenses incidental and related thereto, the Town vote to raise and appropriate or transfer from available funds for appropriation a sum of money to the Mashpee Shores Roads Account and to raise said appropriation the Treasurer, with the approval of the Board of Selectmen, be authorized to borrow at one time, or from time to time, a sum of money under and pursuant to Chapter 44, Section 7 or 8 or any other enabling authority and to issue bonds and notes of the Town therefore, and further, to see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate and transfer from available funds a sum of money to the Mashpee Shores Roadways Account to provide interest and debt issuance expenses, or take any other action relating thereto. Motion passes unanimously at 8:52 p.m. Article 43 To see if the Town will vote to appropriate, transfer, or raise from available funds the sum of$15,000 into the Leisure Service Expense Account or take any other action relating thereto. Submitted by Petition Explanation: This article provides the Town's share of funding to assist the Mashpee Little League, who has raised approximately $20,000 during the last four years to install outdoor athletic lighting for fields at Heritage Park. A sum of approximately $35,000 is estimated as a cost to provide this lighting, which would be available for Youth Baseball and Softball, and Adult Softball. Without lighting, and with few alternatives for other fields, there are few options available for the burgeoning population of youth anticipated to partake in the future.
