Motion: I move that the vote to accept pursuant to G.L. C. 82, §21-24 the relocation and alteration of the layout of Great Oak Road as a public way as shown on a plan entitled "Roadway Easement Plan of Land, Mashpee, Massachusetts", prepared for the Town of Mashpee, Massachusetts , 8/20/94 consisting of six sheets prepared by Bostwick Engineering, Incorporated and to authorize the Board of Selectmen to acquire by gift, purchase or eminent domain taking any land necessary for the purposes of such way as so relocated and altered. Planning Board recommends approval. Motion passes unanimously at 9:20 p.m. Article 26 To see if the Town will vote to accept the layout of High Sachem Road, Matchewuttah Road, and Papnommett Road as public ways as shown on plans entitled "Compiled Road Taking Plan for Sachem Village Subdivision in Mashpee, Barnstable County, Massachusetts", dated January 25, 1995 by the B.S.C. Group, Inc., which layout shall have been filed in the office of the Town Clerk, not later than seven days prior to the date of the vote hereunder and to authorize the Board of Selectmen to acquire by gift, purchase or eminent domain taking any land necessary for the purposes of such ways as so laid out, and to raise and appropriate, transfer from available funds or borrow a sum or sums for such purchase or taking and for constructing or reconstructing said public ways, including costs therefor, and further to authorize the Board of Selectmen to assess betterments to the owners of the land abutting the ways, or take any other action relating thereto. Submitted by the DPW Director Explanation: These roads were petitioned and approved for taking at the October 1994 Town Meeting. Recommendation: The Finance Committee recommends approval. Motion made by Selectman Mills. Motion: I move the Town hereby accept the layout of High Sachem Road, Matchewuttah Road, and Papnommett Road as public ways as shown on plans entitled "Compiled Road Taking Plan for Sachem Village Subdivision in Mashpee, Barnstable County, Massachusetts", dated January 25, 1995 by the B.S.C. Group, Inc., which layout shall have been filed in the office of the Town Clerk, not later than seven days prior to the date of the vote hereunder and to authorize the Board of Selectmen to acquire by gift, purchase or eminent domain taking any land necessary for the purposes of such ways as so laid out, and that the sum of $100,000 is appropriated for such purchase or taking and for constructing or reconstructing said public ways, including costs incidental and related thereto, and to raise this appropriation, the Treasurer with the approval of the Board of Selectmen is authorized to borrow said sum under and pursuant to Chapter 44, Section 7(3) and (5), of the General Laws, or any other enabling authority, and issue bonds or notes of the Town therefor, and further that the Board of Selectmen is authorized to assess betterments to the owners of the land abutting the ways. 16
