<br /> To see if the Town will vote to accept the layout of Ships Lantern Drive, Clipper Street, Compass
<br /> Drive, Topsail Road, Ships Rudder Drive, Ships Wheel Drive, Davit Road, Porthole Drive, Ships
<br /> Anchor Drive, and Shipwreck Drive, as public ways as shown on plans entitled "Compiled Road
<br /> Taking Plan for Clipper Ship Village Subdivision in Mashpee, Barnstable County, Massachusetts",
<br /> dated January 25, 1995 by the B.S.C. Group, Inc., which layout shall have been filed in the office
<br /> of the Town Clerk, not later than seven days prior to the date of the vote hereunder; and to
<br /> authorize the Board of Selectmen to acquire by gift, purchase or eminent domain taking any land
<br /> necessary for the purposes of such ways as so laid out, and to raise and appropriate, transfer from
<br /> available funds or borrow a sum or sums for such purchase or taking and for constructing or
<br /> reconstructing said public ways, including costs therefor, and further to authorize the Board of
<br /> Selectmen to assess betterments to the owners of the land abutting the ways, or take any other
<br /> action relating thereto.

<br /> Explanation: These roads were petitioned and approved for taking at the October 1994 Town
<br /> Meeting.
<br /> Recommendation: The Finance Committee recommends approval.
<br /> Motion by Selectman Dinizio.
<br /> Motion: I move the Town vote to accept the layout of Ships Lantern Drive, Clipper Street,
<br /> Compass Drive, Topsail Road, Ships Rudder Drive, Ships Wheel Drive, Davit Road, Porthole
<br /> Drive, Ships Anchor Drive, and Shipwreck Drive, as public ways as shown on plans entitled
<br /> "Compiled Road Taking Plan for Clipper Ship Village Subdivision in Mashpee, Barnstable
<br /> County, Massachusetts", dated January 25, 1995 by the B.S.C. Group, Inc., which layout shall
<br /> have been filed in the office of the Town Clerk, not later than seven days prior to the date of the
<br /> vote hereunder and to authorize the Board of Selectmen to acquire by gift, purchase or eminent
<br /> domain taking any land necessary for the purposes of such ways as so laid out, and that the sum
<br /> of $350,000 is appropriated for such purchase or taking and for constructing or reconstructing
<br /> said public ways, including costs incidental and related thereto, and to raise this appropriation, the
<br /> Treasurer with the approval of the Board of Selectmen is authorized to borrow said sum under
<br /> and pursuant to Chapter 44, Section 7(3) and (5), of the General Laws, or any other enabling
<br /> authority, and issue bonds or notes of the Town therefor, and further that the Board of Selectmen
<br /> is authorized to assess betterments to the owners of the land abutting the ways.
