€'a SECOND HALF MASHPEE ANNUAL TOWN MEETING - TUESDAY MARCH 6, 1973 The second half of Town Meeting reconvened at 7 :40 p.m. r� with 156 persons present. At 7 :55 p.m. the meeting was called to order by the Moderator. Moderator: The meeting will please come to order and we will continue with the business at hand. We will consider first, Article 21 : ART'. 21. To:see if;the Town will vote to raise and appropriate or take from available funds. the sum of three thou- sand dollars ($3,000) for further resto- ration of the buil"ding the Town pur- chased for use at the Tov n Disposal j Area or take any other action thereon Submitted by Board of Health. RECOMMENDED To Raise And Ap- propriate $1,500, K.D.O'Connell :I mclke a motion that Article 21 be tabled. This was seconded, and so voted. Article 22: ART. 22. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate or take from available funds the sum of $1,345.50 for purchase of a copy machine to be used in the 'Selectmen's office or take any other action thereon. Submitted by the Selectmen. RECOMMENDED To Raise And Ap- propriate. From the floor: I move Article 22 be accepted as recommended. From the floor: Is it not true that the Selectmen' s Office has such a machine? K.D.O 'Connell: But the Police Department has it now. The machine in the Selectmen"s Office has to serve all, and it seems more logical that ours be turned over to the Police Department and the new machine, which must be used by all Departments of the Town, be purchased for the Selectmen' s Office . We paid between seven and eight hundred dollars a few years ago for the one we already have . That size cannot handle the work load that we have and p that is why we require a better machine . i The Moderator called for a vote and it was so voted. 4 Article 24: ART 24 To see T` the Town will rote to approve the following bylaws or take any further action thereon 1-1 Authority This bylaw prescribes certain pow. ers and duties of the Highway Sun veyor He is authorized to issue per- mits for work to be performed upon anv Town Highway or section thereof. In this connection attention is di- rected to the "Town of 1\13shiDee by- laws" effecting Town Highways which provides as follows. "Digging up Town_Highways; Plant- ing Trees; Bond: Permit No Town Highway shall be dug up, or opening, made therein for any purpose, nor shall any_material _be dumped or placed thereon or removei therefrom,. and no tree shall be planted or re- ',' moved or construction or strc.eture.
