Cheyenne Hendricks <br /> described how the Tribe represents family to her and that she is mindful and grateful that her <br /> people can feel pain together. On another subject, the chair alluded to an article in the <br /> Enterprise that listed those in the community who have seined in wars. She noted that it would <br /> be valuable to note how many were members of the Tribe. She will contact Richard DeSorgher <br /> from the Historical Commission. <br /> OLD BUSINESS 1. The social media issue is to be continued. 2.The Town Report submission has <br /> been submitted on time with thanks to Supt. DeBoer for her editing. 3. Member sharing included <br /> Conversations That Matter with Marie Younger Blackburn, Discussion of"Caste"at the Athenium <br /> Nantucket,The Bystander Program with NPFH Barnstable, The MLK Breakfast with NPFH Falmouth, <br /> The Woods Hole Experience in the past 40 years with the Wood's Hole Diversity Committee, and <br /> Would you Hide Me in Your Attic with Prejudice Free Duxbury. <br /> NEW BUSINESS 1. The short film White Space which highlights four women of color on Cape Cod <br /> was aired but sound problems occurred. Members may access the video on their own devices 2. <br /> Prejudice Free Duxbury worked with their Selectboard to issue a statement on its commitment to <br /> diversity, equity and inclusion. Other coalition committees are following suit. The chair recommended <br /> that this committee prepare a statement to be considered by the Board as this has not been addressed <br /> since a proclamation was issued in the town in the year 2000. Patti DeBoer and Kim Landry <br /> volunteered to work with the chair to prepare a statement to be voted on by the committee at the next <br /> meeting. 3. The chair recommended that the committee look into addressing the needs of veterans <br /> within the community referencing those with PTSD and the concerns expressed by Vietnam vets who <br /> were not welcomed upon returning from the war. <br /> ADJOURNMENT A motion to adjourn was made by Ms. DeBoer and seconded by Mr. Kupferman. <br /> The meeting was adjourned at 11:30 <br /> Next Meeting: March 9,2021 at 10:00 A.M <br /> f 1 `� <br />
