Agent recommends a revised fine cap of$5,000. Requires State review
and approval.
Agent explained the State has a non-criminal disposition fine schedule that allows a fine
up to a maximum of$300. He is looking to speak with other towns to see if they would
support a letter to the State proposing an increase up to $5,000. The Commission
discussed going from $300 to $5,000 may be too large an increase, Agent explained it
doesn't have to be $5,000, could be any number just that it needs to be increased. The
Commission supports a letter to the State proposing an increase and will continue to
discuss.
HEARINGS:
6:00 Jay J. & Elizabeth Derenzo, 134 Popponesset Island Road.
