Mr. Galello brought up the subject of locking the gate properly, and perhaps come up with an easier
lock and/or a sign to say"Lock the Gate".
Ms. Scharfenberg will reach out to Catherine Laurent about posting parking signs.
• Community Preservation Committee and April 1 proposal deadline for Fall Town Meeting—
Virginia Scharfenberg
Ms. Scharfenberg said 4/l/21 is the deadline for the proposal of more CPC money, this would be
funding used in 2022. We have $8k-9K left from our original grant that was to be used for an
information kiosk. We could also ask Catherine Laurent if it's possible to change the allocation of some
of this money towards expanding and building more beds(possibly smaller beds for herbs or kids'
gardens). Mashpee Historic Commission mentioned that they aren't opposed to us expanding if they are
not using the property. Perhaps we could have a joint meeting to discuss possible expansion.
• Consideration of Organic Standards as a handout—Lynn Harris
Ms. Harris found this from the Natick Community Garden, thought it would be a good idea to have
these posted inside the shed.
• University of Rhode Island online classes—Lynn Harris
Ms. Harris and Ms. Scharfenberg discussed a little about the online classes offered through URI. Sturgis
library is also offering a class in April.
• Ideas for future attention—Lynn Harris
Ms. Harris had put together a few ideas to gain more attention/involvement from the community. A few
mentioned were getting students to participate in gardening, Mr. Fand giving a presentation about edible
gardening, getting a culinary program started, Community Service hours, and gardeners' picnics.
ADDITIONAL TOPICS: This space is reserved for topics that the Chairman did not reasonably
anticipate would be discussed.
ADJOURNMENT
Motion: Mr. Galello moved to adjourn, Mr. Fand seconded.
Vote: 4-0 unanimous
Meeting adjourned at 8:16pm.
NEXT MEETING DATE: Wednesday, March 17, 2021
Respectfull Sub itted,
ftr' a ng
Board Secretary
2
