Washpee,Alassachusetts 02649 <br /> Mashpee Conservation Commission Minutes <br /> Thursday, March 11, 2021 <br /> Mashpee Town Hall <br /> 16 Great Neck Road North <br /> MEETING WILL NOT BE TELEVISED, WILL NOT BE STREAMED LIVE <br /> Residents: To join the meeting via phone only: Dial 1-646-558-8656. <br /> Enter meeting ID: 846 4823 1027 #. <br /> Press #to skip prompt to enter unique participant ID. <br /> Enter passcode: 943344 #. <br /> PRESENT: Paul Colombo, Brad Sweet, Chad Smith, Charles Dalton, Tom O'Neill, Brian <br /> Weeden <br /> CALL MEETING TO ORDER: Chairman Smith called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. <br /> PRE/POST-HEARING AGENDA: <br /> • Approve Minutes: February 11, 2021 <br /> Motion: Mr. Sweet moved to approve the 2/11/2021 minutes, Mr. Colombo seconded. <br /> Vote: 3-0 unanimous <br /> • Updates: <br /> o Red Brook Road culvert <br /> Agent had a site visit with Rick DiVirgilio to see about funding through National <br /> Resources Conservation Service. We're also going to apply to DER this year, so <br /> we have two potential funding sources.The first priority is-to-fix the culvert:W6 - -__-- <br /> also need to finalize ownership. Long term we're looking at restoring it back to a <br /> brook instead of a flooded bog. <br /> HEARINGS: <br /> 6:00 Alan L. & Kathryn A. Clapp, 3 Keelan Way. Proposed replacement of stairs/walkway/ramps with NC <br /> gangway and piles and hardscape/landscape modifications. <br /> Matthew Costa from Cape & Islands Engineering presented plans. <br /> Agent recommended approval as the existing at grade patio pavers were impacting salt marsh and <br /> BVW. The proposed elevated walkway would eliminate foot traffic on wetlands. Commissioner <br /> Colombo asked about grating over the salt marsh and the commission agreed it should be <br /> conditioned as part of an order of conditions. <br /> Motion: Mr. Sweet moved to close and issue with the condition discussed, Mr. Colombo <br /> seconded. <br /> Vote: 6-0-0 unanimous <br /> PRE/POST-HEARING AGENDA: <br /> • New England Mountain Bike Association: Proposed new trail at Mashpee River <br /> Woodlands <br /> Lev Malakhoff from NEMBA presented the proposal. Frank Merola and Dave <br /> LaFreniere were present. <br />
