*APPROVED May 13, 2O21* <br /> Town Seal Committee Minutes March 12, 2U21 <br /> The Committee discussed having Ms. DeBoer produce a"google"form and that a "link"to the survey in google form would <br /> be put on the Town website and other media. Ms. Cook will put it on the Town's website and official Facebook page and <br /> Ms. Mahoney will have paper copies available for patrons of the Mashpee Library. The K4ashpee Enterprise will be <br /> contacted as well. Ms. Cook will ask the Town Manager if the survey could be distributed to Department Heads. <br /> The Committee moved on to the distribution of the survey and the Committee generally felt that the survey should be <br /> mostly distributed via electronic means with some paper copies being available at various Town buildings such as the <br /> Library,Town Hall and the Council onAging. <br /> The publication of an article about the survey and possibly the printing of the survey within the article in the Enterprise. <br /> Also, survey monkey and constant contact were mentioned as means to get the word out. Mr. Lehrer said it was <br /> important to give the general public "license" to be a part of the creation of a new seal. <br /> Mr. Weeden said it is important to depict the history and have residents give a history of their vision of the Town. Today's Town Seal is not reflective of Mashpee's <br /> history and |S seen 8Sa symbol reflective Vfthe genocide Of Native People. <br /> Through 3 community-wide process including research and dialogue, vve will reflect on our tDVVD'S past, present, <br /> and future. The COOO[n\t18e seeks input from residents to identify design priorities for the Town 5SJl from an <br /> array of positive characteristics and attributes including, but not limited to K433hpee's diversity and culture, <br /> notable people, sense of community, history and landmarks, economy, natural resources, and wildlife. <br /> Please share your opinions and play a role in guiding this historic process.
