TOWN OF MASHPEE BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING January 17, 1989 Meeting called to order at 3:00 p.m. Members present: Stephen J. Greelish and Roland L. Wilson THE TAPE IS NOT PART OF THE MEETING. 11' IS FOR THE PURPOSE OF TRANSCRIBING MINUTES. Mr. Stephen J. Greelish, Acting Chairman 1 . ) Warrants signed 2. ) Mr. Greelish motioned to accept the minutes of January 9, 1989, Mr. Wilson seconded. 3. ) F.Y.I . - Pamphlet American Lung Assoc. annual report - The Board acknowl- edged receiving the report. 4. ) E.A.- M foll-u memo to Exec. Sec. re: Septic Inspections for Town Bldg' s FF. McQuaid informed the Board that this memo was forwarded to the Exec. Sec. as a follow-up to the meeting with Mr. Murphy last week as requested by him and explained that ABCO Cesspool Co. was forwarded a copy of this memo. The Board acknowledged the memo. 5. ) Letter, D.E.Q.E. re: Hazardous Waste Sites - The Board acknowledged re- ceiving a copy of the letter. 6. ) Copy, memo from Exec. Sec. to P.D. Bldg. Committee re: Waiver of permits Ti as edged r°eceiving a copy of the memo however, Mr. McQuaid informed the Board that plans have not been forwarded to this office. 7. ) Letter from Fire Chief to E.A.M. re: Status report on local hazardous waste locations - Mr. McQuaid explained to the Board that he did receive a call from Cheryl Var,cos, owner of property in which a U.S.T. is located, who questioned what steps should be -taken in regards to the U.S.T. Mr. McQuaid informed the owner that a licensed excavator could be retained for this procedure and stated in Chief Ridgeway's memo, it states that both storage tanks were removed. Mr. McQuaid stated Chief Ridgeway has suggested the owner Pull the permit to remove the tank and prior to removal testing will -take as to whether the 'Lank still exists in the ground, it is suspected the pipe extending out of the ground may be a pumping pipe. The Board agreed with this procedure.
