6:42 Town of Mashpee (Applicant), 0-Rear& 236 Wading Place Road. Proposed maintenance NOI and improvement dredging with beach nourishment. (Owners: Save Popponesset Bay, Inc., Massachusetts Audubon Society, Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Fish &Wildlife). John Malloy from Save Popponesset Bay and Tara Martin from Woods Hole Group presented plans. Agent commented that Regulation 20 would be redundant at best, his recommendation is to waive that requirement. Mr. Bregman asked if this is funded by the State? Mr. Malloy said no, Save Popponesset Bay has spent about 2million over 4 years. Public comment: Ken Bates from the Town of Mashpee said everything is in order, permitting will continue, they'll get the permits. Everything has worked out fine over the years. They have managed the Audubon bird portion of it and satisfied all the state and federal agencies so far, we've worked well together, Mr. O'Neil asked how long the nourishment is expected to last? Ms. Martin said 5-10 years. Agent said that nourishment comes with maintenance and perpetuity. Motion: Mr. Smith moved to approve and waive the Regulation 20 requirement. Mr. Dalton seconded. It's conceptual at this point, with the idea that it would be moved after a few months. There are other sites that could be considered, • Update: Proposed bylaw language revision to reflect monetary mitigation for dock projects (Shellfish mitigation fund). Discussion with Town Counsel.
