This is a massive amount of people <br /> in one area and the impacts need to be considered. Ms. Courtenay indicated the Town of Mashpee is now <br /> facing a lawsuit because of water quality. As we move forward are we putting Mashpee in a position for <br /> more land suits because of environmental impacts? There is a need to protect the Town from future lawsuits. <br /> Discussion and Approval of the following Special Event and Temporary Sign Permit Applications: <br /> Rhiannon McCuish 5k Woodland Run Saturday October 15 2021 10 AM— 12 PM Heritage Park: <br /> Recreation Director Mary Bradbury: <br /> The Board of Selectmen was in receipt of a Special Event and Temporary Sign Permit Application from <br /> Mary K. Bradbury,Recreation Director for the Annual Rhiannon McCuish 5k Woodland Run scheduled to <br /> be held on Saturday, October 16, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Heritage Park Recreational <br /> facility. <br /> This event benefits the Mashpee Recreation Scholarship Fund for summer camps and other programs <br /> throughout the year for families in need. <br /> Ten directional signs 12"xl2" and up to three lawn signs along the race route are planned for safety. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Gottlieb to approve the Special Event and Temporary Sign Permit <br /> Application of the Recreation Department for the Annual Rhiannon McCuish 5k Woodland Run as <br /> presented. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman O'Hara. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Sherman,yes Selectman Weeden,yes Selectman Gottlieb,yes <br /> Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman O'Hara, yes Opposed, none <br /> Discussion and Approval of Appointment of the following: Community Preservation Committee Member <br /> At-Large (Term Expires June 30 2022): Arden Russell Cadrin: <br /> The Community Preservation Committee at their meeting of June 24, 2021 voted unanimously to recommend <br /> the appointment of Arden R. Cadrin as a Member-At-Large. A letter of interest and resume were included in <br /> the communication. Ms. Cadrin was in attendance to discuss her interest in serving on this committee. Ms. <br /> Cadrin is well qualified for the position and is currently the Housing Coordinator for a local municipality. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Gottlieb to appoint Arden Russell Cadrin to the Community Preservation <br /> Committee as a Member-At-Large for a term to expire; June 30, 2022. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cotton. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Sherman, yes Selectman Weeden, yes Selectman Gottlieb,yes <br /> Selectman Cotton, yes Selectman O'Hara,yes Opposed, none <br />
