5 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> July 26, 2021 <br /> Discussion and Certification of the Hiring Process for Firefighter/EMT Jacob Lewis: Fire Chief Thomas Rullo: <br /> Correspondence was received from Fire Chief Thomas C. Rullo dated July 15, 2021 regarding the Hiring <br /> Process for Firefighter/EMT Jacob Lewis at Step 1 of the intended pay scale. The Board of Selectmen was <br /> respectfully requested to certify the selection process for the appointment of Mr. Lewis on July 27, 2021. <br /> Town Manager Rodney C. Collins affirmed that all policies and procedures relative to the Hiring Process <br /> have been adhered to with proper forms submitted by Human Resources. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Gottlieb to certify the Hiring Process of Firefighter/EMT Jacob Lewis as <br /> Firefighter/EMT effective July 27, 2021. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman O'Hara. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Sherman,yes Selectman Weeden,yes Selectman Gottlieb, yes <br /> Selectman Cotton, yes Selectman O'Hara, yes Opposed, none <br /> Public Hearing: Comcast Cable Television License Renewal Proposal: <br /> The Board of Selectmen opened the Public Hearing on the license renewal proposal from its current cable <br /> television licensee, Comcast pursuant to G.L.c.166A, §6 and 207 CMR 3.02(2). The purpose of said hearing <br /> is to hear testimony and receive evidence from the applicant and members of the general public to assist the <br /> Board in its assessment of Comcast's qualifications for a provisional license renewal. <br /> There was no representation from Comcast,the current cable television licensee. <br /> Town Counsel Patrick J. Costello was in attendance via remote participation. The Board of Selectmen <br /> reviewed their options. It was recommended the Board continue the Public Hearing to allow Comcast the <br /> opportunity to discuss the proposal to review its existing license and allow for public comment to hear <br /> advantages and disadvantages. <br /> It was disclosed the Town's subcommittee in the Comcast negotiation process has advocated for an extension <br /> of contract. A brief discussion ensued and the following action was taken. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Gottlieb to continue the Public Hearing on the Comcast license renewal <br /> proposal to Monday,August 9, 2021 at 6:40 p.m. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman O'Hara. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Sherman,yes Selectman Weeden,yes Selectman Gottlieb,yes <br /> Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman O'Hara, yes Opposed, none <br />
