{Agenda Topic 8} Attaquin Beach Parking Lot
Discussion: The parking lot at Attaquin beach was left unlocked in 2020 due to the pandemic so that
people would have "something to do" according to the Town Manager. The town is not locking it in 2021
which is subject to change. Headlights have been noted there at all hours, and there is increased noise
from the area. Any problems noted should be called in to Mashpee Police Dept..
Conclusions: The beach parking lot remains unlocked this summer. Call police for any problems.
{Agenda topic 912021 Meeting Dates
Discussion: A list of 2021 dates for MWLMC was emailed to members in December 2020. A meeting
room was reserved. Meetings will continue to be held on the fourth Tuesday at 7 PM. A paper list was
available for anyone interested.
Conclusions: MWLMC meeting dates are arranged for the year.
[Agenda topic 101 Brian Mauro Resigned New
Member needed
Discussion: Brian Mauro has moved to Bourne and resigned from the committee. We will miss his
contributions and will need to find a replacement.
Conclusions: New member needed for MWLMC. Barbara will send a thank you note to Brian.
{Agenda topic 111 Wakeby Islands
Discussion: There has been increased use of the islands with camping and fires and areas have been
cleared. They are owned by the Native Conservancy who have no way to monitor the islands. Mashpee
and Sandwich plan to mark out a swim area of 150 feet around the islands and then people could be cited
for entering the swim area when they come in by jet ski and boats.
Conclusions: It is hoped to discourage further abuse of the islands by establishing a swim area.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:05 P.M.
Respectfully submitted,
Barbara B. Nichols
