A series of appropriate programs, ceremonies and activities are planned to <br /> recognize the historic and daily contributions and achievements of women. Additional information <br /> can be found at .ww Wo ensHist01`yMonth.gov. <br /> 2021 marks the 401h Anniversary of United States Congressional Public Laws leading to the <br /> establishment of Mashpee as Women's History Month. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Gottlieb to declare the month of March 2021 as Women's <br /> History Month. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Sherman. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Cotton, yes Selectman O'Hara, yes Selectman Sherman, yes <br /> Selectman Gottlieb, yes Selectman Weeden,yes Opposed, none <br /> Discussion of Shellfish Classification Area Changes Due to Mooring Fields: <br /> Natural Resources Director Ashley Fisher: <br /> Ashley Fisher, Director of Natural Resources reviewed her memorandum of March 15, 2021 <br /> regarding shellfish classification area changes based on the presence of mooring fields. <br /> Ms. Fisher indicated the Division of Marine Fisheries is required to meet National Shellfish <br /> Sanitation Program Model Ordinance requirements when classifying shellfish growing areas <br /> around potential spillage areas which includes moorings. <br /> Mooring areas in excess of 21 moorings have been classified as potential risk areas to surrounding <br /> shellfish populations. The areas to be classified include; "Approved to Harvest" open for shellfish <br /> harvesting for direct human consumption subject to local rules and regulations, closed only during <br /> major coast-wide events. "Conditionally Approved"are closed some of the time due to rainfall or <br /> seasonally poor water quality or other predictable events.
