Mr. Harrington commented that there had been a dry run on Monday before
the actual clinic. Emergency medical services were requested for the duration of the clinic, and
Falmouth EMS provided those.
Chair Baumgaertel stated that he was glad to see the last few COVID reports showed fewer new
cases. Mr. Harrington responded that the office is getting weekly updates from the VNA, because
they are too busy to provide daily updates. Ms. Cantella, participates in a case review with the
VNA and CTC, during which they go over positive test dates, exposure sources., etc.
Chair Baumgaertel commented that he heard positive things about that clinic at the Melody Tent
that took place earlier that day. Mr.Virgilio stated that he and his wife participated in a clinic at
the Melody Tent that was arranged by Cape Cod Healthcare, and it went like clockwork.
4,, Discussion of COVID Vaccination Plan. Mr. Harrington commented that Mashpee is participating
in the regional clinics at both the Fairgrounds and Melody Tent sites. The office will be using the
Town's emergency alert system, Blackboard Connect, to notify residents when they can register
for a scheduled clinic. Health Agents are working with the County to get better notice prior to the
registration opening up,which was an issue with the first two clinics, and which will hopefully give
eligible Mashpee residents a fighting chance for vaccinations. The doses are still very limited and
appointments go very quickly, so residents will need to continue to be patient.
Ms. Warden asked if the County administered all 975 doses, and Mr. Harrington answered in the
affirmative,, stating that 600 doses were allocated for the Fairgrounds and 375 were allocated for
the Melody Tent. That is. the weekly allotment. Towns can get up to 100 doses, and Mr.
Harrington tried to coordinate with the VNA to put together mobile teams that could visit smaller
facilities and the homebound. He heard back from the VNA that, because 100 doses is so limited,
those would be better applied toward the regional clinics for now, where the larger labor force is.
3
