The VNA and County have saI d they would put together the mobile clinics when the Cape begins <br /> 0 <br /> receiving more vaccine. For now,we are focused on supporting and participating in those regional <br /> clinics. <br /> Ms. Warden commented that she called Stop & Shop pharmacy, and they have an automated <br /> voice message saying they have a small amount of vaccine available. Ms.Cantella stated that only <br /> the Hyannis Stop&Shop is offering the vaccine. Mr. Harrington stated that Walgreens is allocated <br /> 35 doses a day, but there have been some issues with the registration process. Mr. Virgilio <br /> commented that there has been some chatter about Cape Cod not being a mass vaccination site <br /> but I I I I <br /> ,, in his opinion., we are a mass vaccination site based on the work being done. Mr. Harrington <br /> advised the Board that 32%of our population is over the age of 65. Falmouth is about the same, <br /> and the lower Cape towns have an even higher percentage. Mr. Harrington was of the opinion <br /> that, based on our senior population, the state is failing short in providing vaccine to the Cape. <br /> He cautioned that the state needs to increase allocation of the vaccine before they open up <br /> eligibility to people 65 and over. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> 1. Review and approval of meeting minutes. The minutes of the January 21, 2021 meeting were <br /> not available for review. <br /> 2o Sign expense warrants. It was understood that expense warrants would have to be signed <br /> outside of the meeting, due to there being no Board members physically present. <br /> 3. Failure to complete 2021 operationg permit renewal process. Mr. Harrington commented that <br /> Stop&Shop, Estia,Johns Pond Village,J.M. Barros Septic Service, and Wind River Environmental <br /> have all failed to pay their 2021 permit renewal fees. Additionally, Vaughn Vittorini has failed to <br /> submI t the required Bloodborne Pathogen Certificate for his Body Art Practitioner Permit. All <br /> have been sent reminders and/or received calls, and Mr. Harrington was of the opinion that it is <br /> too far past the deadline to let this go any longer. <br /> Chair Baumgaertel asked if any of these permit holders had a history of this issue, and Mr. <br /> Harrington answered in the negative. Ms. Warden asked about double fees,. and Mr. Harrington <br /> answered that they had already been applied, but have not been paid. Mr. Virgillo asked if any <br /> had made claims that the delay is due to COVID., and Mr. Harrington answered not to his <br /> knowledge. Glen recommended fines in various amounts for non-compliance. Mr. Virgillo <br /> responded that perhaps they should all be assessed the same fine,since the violation is the same <br /> for all of them. Ms.Warden agreed, but suggested that$100/day may be excessive due to COVID., <br /> and felt$25/day was more appropriate. <br /> Mr. Harrington commented that the amount is inconsequential, because the letters will go out <br /> certified mail and., I , I I <br /> once they get notice they will all most likely take care of the payment. Ms. <br /> Warden asked if double fees would be applied in addition to the fine., and Mr. Harrington <br /> reminded the Board that the fee schedule states that double fees are assessed for non-payment <br /> by January 11t. Chair Ba U mgaertel asked if we have any precedent on this, and Mr. Harrington <br /> answered that,whenever we have applied double fees,the applicant has always stepped up and <br /> p id al right away.
