Barnstable County has scheduled clinics
on March 9th and March 1 1th for the Johnson &Johnson vaccine. There are 600 shots for each
clinic. A Blackboard connect alert had gone out at 530 pm that evening, notifying residents that
registrations for those clinics would open at 12 noon the following day. County hotline and Board
of Health staff are ready to assist residents who need help with scheduling their appointments.
Mr. Harrington stated that staff are working with the Community Health Center to vaccinate the
homebound population. We have a list from the COA of about 35 people. We had contacted
Elder Services for a list of Meals on Wheels participants, but they refused to turn over their
membership. instead,we created a flyer, which the Meals on Wheels drivers handed out as they
made their deliveries. The flyer had instructions to contact the BOH or COA to schedule a vaccine
appointment. A total of between 70-105 people are going to be considered homebound, and
their appointments will be coordinated with the community health centers, and possibly the VNA.
3
